Final Project
Objective: Working in small groups of 3 or 4, explore a Web 2.0 application and present it to our class.
Instructions: Keep it simple. Keep it short—about 30 minutes or less. Remember web 2.0 is about collaboration and you don’t have to re-invent the wheel. Use or modify existing resources you find on the web (don’t forget attribution).
Format: It’s up to you, but use Google Docs for your drafts so your group can edit collaboratively. Think about including a demo or ‘hands on’ activity as part of your presentation. Whatever the format, be sure to include:
- what it is
- what it does
- why use it in class
- and ideas about how to use it in the classroom.
Share: We’ll upload your presentations on our class wiki and share them with other teaches in the BSU. So keep in mind the presentations you create will be resources for others. Teachers are your ‘audience.’
Resources: You're welcome to borrow any of the library’s equipment over the weekend as resources for your presentations.
- Digital cameras
- Digital voice recorders
- Flip video camera
- Digital camcorder
Choose one of these applications for your presentation or suggest something else...
- Google Sketchup (downloaded in the Digital Classroom)
- Scratch (downloaded in the Digital Classroom)
- SurveyMonkey.com (on the web) or Google Forms (on the web)
- Animoto.com (on the web)
- Google Earth (downloaded in the Digital Classroom)
- VoiceThread (on the web)
- Freepath (NOT downloaded, but if a group’s interested, we’ll put it on the laptop)
- PhotoStory 3 (downloaded in the Digital Classroom)
