Definitions/New Vocabulary
Dashboard—with respect to blogs, it’s a user interface for your account—think of it as your instrument panel where you manage what goes on—from here you can create a new entry, change your settings, etc.
Blog—created as a new word from the combination of web + log = blog
Blogger—a person who blogs!
Blogroll—a list of blogs or links to other webpages
Blogosphere—the blogging community on the web

Class Assignment
1. Create a teacher blog using wordpress.com. Your audience is your students and their parents.
2. First Entry—welcome message to students and parents. Maybe goals for the year, maybe what you did this summer – just be yourself and keep your audience in mind.
3. Extra Credit for overachievers: Add a link to your Delicious account on the sidebar.
